What to wear for a Lake Tekapo elopement

Lake Tekapo gives you two weddings in one place. In early summer the lupins come out along the shore, and after dark you are inside the Aoraki Mackenzie dark sky reserve, under one of the darkest skies in the world.

We design our pieces in the same reserve, and the stars in them come from looking up here. Think of Orion as a piece of this sky you can take home. It is a loose kimono in soft ivory tulle scattered with reflective stars, it goes on over any dress, and it is light enough to fly with.

Among the lupins, ivory tulle sits softly against the blue and purple. Once the sun goes down, a lantern or a camera flash catches the stars on Orion, on the Milky Way veil and on the Milky Way cape, so your night photographs have stars in them as well as above them.
