A Queenstown elopement usually means a mountain. You may fly up to a ridge above the lake or walk the last stretch across the tussock, and whatever you wear has to travel with you. Stars look right up there, and everything below goes over the dress you already have.
Start with Orion. It is a loose kimono in soft ivory tulle, scattered with reflective stars and framed in silver glitter, with wide bell sleeves that move as you walk. Wear it open over any wedding dress. It is light enough to pack, and you can take it home with you afterwards.

If you would like a veil, Milky Way is 3 metres (118 inches) of soft white tulle scattered with reflective stars. Wait for dusk, hold a lantern under it, and the stars catch the light around you both. Velum adds a blusher that lifts back for your vows, and the Zodiac Veil carries your two star signs.

For nothing in your hair, the Milky Way cape is 3 metres (118 inches) long and fastens with tiny hidden clips, so it comes off easily once you are back down for dinner.

Many couples hire a dress for a Queenstown elopement. A star kimono or veil over it is the part you keep.

We design inside a dark sky reserve, so we spend a lot of time thinking about what happens after the sun goes down. Maybe that is why we love a mountain wedding. Up there, you can see how much sky you have, and a little of it can come home with you.
